City of Pleasanton's MOU with the East Bay Regional Park District Will Provide New Trail Access to Pleasanton Ridge
We applaud the vote of the City Council to vote in favor of the MOU that will provide much needed access point to the Pleasanton Ridge. This was an important vote given the Planning Commission's opposition to the MOU.
The MOU proposes to convert Old Foothill road to a southbound, single-lane, one-way street and use the existing “extra lane” to provide 45 – 50 parallel parking spaces; creates a new access point to the Ridge immediately west of the Alviso Adobe Community Park; restrooms; and a commitment from EBRPD to construct an additional trailhead, known as the Garms Staging Area, located approximately one mile to the north of the Castleridge staging area, within five years.
This is a great win for additional public access to open space and parks in the Bay Area!
